I have deployed over ten of these monitors and they all work fine. Basic monitor without any bells and whistles. Screen is bright and colors pop.
The reviewer that posted about the blurry pic is having a technical issue not related to the product. You have to set your computer’s resolution to the “native” resolution of your monitor which for this montior is 1366×768. Most people think you can just unplug an old monitor and connect a new one but that is not correct. In their review they stated they had a CRT monitor which is not widescreen and therefore their resolution is probably 1024×768 which is probably causing their issue.
Buy with confidence as these monitors have a three year warranty. I have purchased Acer monitors that required warranty service (they were almost three years old and were on non-stop). The warranty process is pretty straight forward. Go to Acer’s warranty site, fill out your information, ship the monitor to a repair center (Texas in my case) and receive the monitor back repaired in about a week.

I bought this monitor because it was so cheap. I guess you get what you pay for. I thought it was a little blurry at the store and gave it the benefit of the doubt that it would be ok. It had to be better than my hand me down CRT. It is but it is still blurry. I would recommend not cheaping out and paying a little more for a better monitor. Ill probably be taking this back to the store.

I bought this screen for my recording studio.The only problem is the video card you need at least 64MB otherwise you might have problems with the monitor but otherwise so far the screen is good and I m thinking buying a second one.

My old LCD monitor blanked out on me. After trying to do digital scrapbooking on an old monitor that I still had I had to get a replacement. Since I recently upgraded to Windows 7 I read that the widescreen monitors work well with this system. I’m very pleased. There were no adjustments to be done. Just let it run on it’s native settings. I’m thinking about purchasing one for my mother.

I’m pleased with this purchase. The 17″ display at the traditional 4:3 (roughly) aspect ratio provides plenty of “real estate” for viewing Internet content, for graphics work and page layout, and for working in several application windows at the same time. The screen resolution (1280×1024) is fine, making for clean and crisp images. The refresher rate is also satisfactory, as there is no apparent flicker and video appears smooth.
The menu and settings for brightness, contrast, etc. are simple and intuitive. I haven’t had to make any custom settings and I’m happy with the presets.
It’s a good monitor at a very competitive price!

I’m using this monitor with a 5 or 6 yr old Dell computer, and it’s working very well. It has allowed me to squeeze another year out of the computer while they get the bugs out of Windows 7. (I always wait for SP2) LOL….. Good for the price, easy to hook up, came with the cable, I’m good…..wish it had speakers built in like my old Sharp monitor, but I’ll just pick up some adjuncts later.

I originally bought one of the new style monitor and found to my dismay that all images are distorted by the rectangular image. Since I use my monitor for work for a charity, “The City of Hope” that made it impossible to view objects in true form. Thankfully after buying other items through Amazon I went on line and found this monitor, returned the other and am delighted. The picture is clear and bright, objects are show realistically to size, it takes up less room is slim and attractive. Hope when the time comes it will continue to be available should I ever need another.

I’M VERY HAPPY WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS MONITOR AND HOW QUICKLY I RECEIVED IT. IT’S ONLY A BASIC MONITOR BUT IT’S A PERFECT REPLACEMENT FOR THE ORIGINAL. I HAD ORIGINALLY PURCHASED A WIDE FLAT SCREEN MONITOR FROM BEST BUY BUT IT WAS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MY OLDER COMPUTER AND RESULTED IN A DISTORTED, SQUAT IMAGE.
